Riverfront Memorial Park
1993 Master Plan completed for this 65 acre
regional recreational facility fronting on the banks of the Susquehanna River.
Phase I area North of bridge completed summer of 1997. Park designed in concert
with Pennsylvania Heritage Parks Program objectives and theme. User survey
produced and administered to justify amenities and facility demand. Plan and
survey used to secure State "Key '93" recreation grant in 1995, and ISTEA grant
in 1996. Facilities include walking/bike trails, boat launch, camping and
fishing areas, recreational fields, seasonal use areas, picnic amenities, and
plantings. Interpretive area and Visitor Center to be developed around former
canal lock and towpath as part of regional bicycle trail concept. Assisted local
Engineer with production of working drawings and specifications for first phase
of park development. |
