Gateway Civic Park
This small civic park is strategically located at
the gateway to downtown Towanda where the Rte. 6 Bridge meets Main Street. The
park design offers a variety of community-related functions and images,
including access to the passive riverbank trail and terraced seating. It also
features an overhead steel trellis and a symbolic "dome"-shaped fountain to be
added in P-2. The kiosk (above) was custom designed to display civic
destinations within downtown. Conceptual design led into preparation of
Construction Plans. A scale model was completed for public display. And a
public presentation to draw support was well attended. Local and State funding.
Project was completed in 2003 and connected to the River Street improvements
project in 2004. |
