Court Street Gateway
Reconstruction of a 9-block segment of Court Street from the eastern Gateway through downtown to the Chenango River. Public hearings and Design Reports have been completed with Design Development on the preferred recommendations underway Winter 2009. Project includes streetscape design, pedestrian and bicycle accommodations/improvements, period lighting, new infrastructure, sidewalks and curbs, landscaping, and other streetscape amenities.
Median designs to feature urban art and sustainable plantings. Gateway feature of brick piers and iron arch reflect architecture of “Parlor City” Era. Project design in collaboration with Shumaker Consulting Engineering & Land Surveying, Binghamton, NY. |
