Vestal Residence
Master Plan through construction review of the site with a design focus on front and rear yard improvements. The front yard provides a controlled private access to the pool area below. The rear yard transitions from semi-formal to natural with a covered patio, pool deck with fire pit, cabana, and related outdoor living spaces offering a restful contemporary flair. The in-ground pool is sited with patterned pavement surround and hidden perimeter fence to maximize natural views. Existing deck and columns are embellished with cedar and incorporate a built-in grilling/cooking area with outdoor conveniences. Lighting and furnishings provide a setting for informal gatherings and entertaining.
Site challenges included slope, drainage, existing deck and construction access. The Landscape Architect provided numerous design layout and material options for Client selection. The covered outdoor kitchen modified the existing deck with waterproofed metal ceiling, cabana fans, and retractable awnings for protection. Gas and natural wood fire pits provide additional gathering areas. HLA worked very closely with Edwards Landscape to assure project quality and Client satisfaction.
