Master plan of rural home to improve outdoor
function and liveablilty of site. Multiple phases anticipated and includes pond
and play features. The front yard, more formal for curb appeal, showcases the
residence and provides an attractive arrival sequence. The rear yard
transitions from semi-formal to natural with a "private" patio, pool area, and
related outdoor living spaces providing an elegant and simple flair. In-ground
pool is sited with pavement surround. Improvements incorporate an existing deck
and sunroom. A grilling/cooking area with outdoor conveniences proposed. Views
to the wooded area and surroundings are maintained and enhanced with new
plantings. Mowing of embankments minimized with establishment of meadow and new
mowing patterns. Native stone and other materials used to maintain relaxed feel
of property. Plantings, including perennials and cutting garden, designed for
seasonal interest and to inhibit deer browse. HLA's design complements the
contemporary theme of the home. |
